I’m sure we all know the benefits water has for our bodies and considering we’re approximately 75% water are we drinking enough? So for the month of July I want you to join me in the Water Challenge. This challenge was inspired by an article I read in the paper about the visible changes drinking water has on your skin and I know proper hydration is critical to pretty much everything in your body.
THE CHALLENGE…. Begins 1st July – 31st July
No sodas, no diet sodas, no juices, no coffee, no alcohol and no junk!
Take a picture of your face with no makeup on Day 1, Day 14 and Day 31 (pictures will be revealed on the final day of the challenge)
Download a ‘water’ app to monitor your daily water intake (I am using Water Your Body- the free version)

Here are some tips on how to consume enough water for your body:
- When you wake up drink 1- 2 glasses of water
I personally love squeezing half a lemon into my hot cup of water with 1tsp of honey to start the day. Using lemon will kick start your body and remove toxins in your body.
- Drink at least 30mins – 1 hr before you eat.
- Carry a water bottle with you everyday and drink throughout the day.
- Drink before you are thirsty (thirst is one of the last signs of dehydration)
- To make sure you’re drinking sufficient water for your body, here’s a calculation I use:
½ of my body weight in ounces
for example “if” I weighed 121 pounds I will then drink 60.5 ounces of water which is approx. 1.7 litres
Drinking enough water is a key element for maintaining your health and general well-being. Increasing your daily intake of water helps keep your skin look vibrant and younger, aids digestion, improves your concentration and helps to remove toxins from your body.
